http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni-c73820: Comparing Sachin Tendulkar with Don Bradman not fair
Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has led his team to become the top ranking test nation in the world, has said that it is rather unfair to compare the great Sir Donald Bradman with Sachin Tendulkar since it would not do
justice to either of them, keeping in view the fact that they both played in different eras.
While talking to media persons before the start of the second test at Durban on the 26th, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 was asked a barrage of different questions from the media. Dhoni also very candidly admitted that the Indians had this
habit of losing the first test of the series. Meanwhile, Graeme Smith said that had they gone on to bat in the first test, they would have done better than http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750. Dhoni emphasized upon the fact that both Sir Donald Bradman and Sachin Tendulkar were truly great
batsmen of their own eras; however, he went on to say that it was completely unfair to compare the two.
He went on to say that his team mate Sachin Tendulkar has performed in all forms of conditions all over the world, leaning towards Sachin. Sachin Tendulkar is the leading run scorer in the history of test cricket with 14,513 runs
in 175 Tests. He recently scored 50 test centuries and by doing so became the first batsman in the history of the game to reach that mark. Bradman, on the other hand, scored 38 centuries in 52 tests averaging 99.94. He holds the record of the best batting
average of any player.
"There is no doubt that both are brilliant batsmen, but Sachin has been around for two decades, the best in the world and moreover throughout his career could adapt even with the demands of one-day cricket and more recently the
Twenty20 version," said MS Dhoni.
Dhoni said that he was on the other side of the pitch when he saw Sachin Tendulkar score 200 runs in an ODI against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 and that just went on to prove the resilience of the little master.
