  1. I just looked on line for MOH pant suits.  Ewwwww.  I would tell her to find one that she would like to wear, then see if you like it.  Then tell her to find a dress that she would be comfortable in and see where you end up.  I guarantee she will wear a dress.

  2. There are incredibly beautiful dressy pantsuits out there - in a ton of colours.

  3. Unless she's 300 pounds I think she needs to wear a dress. Give me a break!

  4. I'd tell her to deal with it and allow her to change after the ceremony and formal pictures if it is going to be that big of an issue.

  5. No it your day and she should respect that,if not then tell her she can not be in the wedding party, however why not let her be a usher instead

  6. Tell her to suck it up!

  7. Tell her she wears the dress/outfit selected or she comes as a guest and lets someone else have the honor.....someone who will wear a dress. For one day she can put herself out for you...good luck.

  8. Well if you dont mind then it can be done!

Depends on the attire of the rest of the party.

Dressy but not formal- how about dress capris in white or black and a nice top in the dress color (can get seperates at Davids bridal for the top)

    pants like

top like a tank or strapless

formal- maybe a nicer pair of pants, wider would give a more skirt like look and again the top in a color that matches

  9. If she won't wear a dress, there are 2 options...she either cannot be MOH, or you can put her in a formal pantsuit. I don't think a dress is more important than a sister, so I'd recommend finding a formal pantsuit.

  10. It's up to you. Personally I agree it's one day, so why does it matter so much? You want her to be there and it really shouldn't matter what she wears as long as she's there to wish you well. That being said, personally I would ask her to at least try some dresses on and see how she feels. She may surprise herself. But that being said...

One the TV show Instant Star in season 4 her best friend got married and she was his best man. She wore a tux which was v. feminine and stylish. The link shows stills from that episode. You can't see the pants in them but they were wide leg and it was v. stylish. If she wears just the vest with a good bra she could s**y it up. She'd still look different, but she'd could match your bridesmaids with the colored vest and still be comfortable. Hope that helps.

  11. Uh No.... She has to wear a dress. Its respect. What is she gonna do on her wedding? Wear pants?

  12. its your day she HAS TO wear what you want her to wear. tell her its only one day and suck it up

  13. Since your sister hates to wear dresses and this is your wedding then let her sit with the family and put someone else in her place.

  14. She either needs to wear the dress or you need a new Maid of Honor.  Why can't she just let you have your day the way you want it.  She has to deal with it for one day.  She is being very selfish.

  15. Well, being she is the Maid of Honor and your sister, you could always try to find a nice pantsuit for her to wear.  That would have her stand out from the bridesmaids.

If you are adamant that she wear a dress, tell her she has to decide to either wear a dress or not be your MOH.

Even though its "your day and your way should be THE way", does not mean you should be demanding your girls/guys be uncomfortable.

If you are one who wants her girls to be comfortable, go ahead and find a nice pantsuit for her to wear.

  16. (rolling my eyes) Sounds like a diva to me.

She should really wear a dress. She can suck it up for one day.

  17. Try to find a pantsuit that would blend in well with the dresses.

I know this a bit different, but my husband had a best man and a female attendant. The best man wore a tux and the female wore a black dress, which she already owned.

  18. Sure she can wear a pant suit - there are some lovely ones (usually for mothers of the bride) around.  Something like this...

  19. If you don't mind her wearing  pantsuit, then thats fine but if you don't like it, I think she could wear a dress just this once. Make sure you pick out something she would feel comfortble in, have her help you pick it out. Maybe something simple would suit her better. Maybe she is afraid you will pick out some Barbie pink poofy thing or something similiar. Also, consider if she is modest. I am a very modest dresser and I hate it when a bride wants me to wear something cut up to my thigh, see-thru and cut down to just above my nipples. Yuck!

Good luck. I think it would be fine either way, its up to you, although a pant suit would stick out. My mom is wearing a pant suit though.

  20. Depends on the formality of the wedding. If you're black-tie or dressier than there isn't really anything appropriate. Otherwise though why on earth would you not let her wear a pantsuit? There are formal ones out there. Unless you're having a black-tie wedding it wouldn't be too casual.

If you put her in a feminine tux then she wouldn't stand out any more than a guy in the bridal party stands out.

  21. I would have her find a dress that she is comfortable wearing.  Your only other option would be for her to wear a Tux but she will stand out like a sore thumb if you ask me.

  22. even though my sister hates dresses, she (thankfully) was up for wearing a gown for my wedding. BUT if she was adamant about not wearing a gown, i would have made the effort or compromised about the bridesmaids attire in some way that could accomodate her.

she's my sister. it's not about being MOH or the dress or being matchy-matchy.

everyone keeps saying "it's one day" and what is the big deal..."she HAS to wear the dress." well, they are partly right. it IS one day. one day out of the rest of your life. is it really worth putting your relationship on the line because she doesn't feel comfortable in a dress? years from now it won't matter what she wore but that she was there for you.

i suggest researching some nice pant suits. talk to a bridal salon and see what they can recommend. also, browse your local department store. i think that you can find a very nice middle-ground that will leave you both feeling comfortable and excited about your wedding!

    good luck!

  23. I wouldn't. She will stand out too much in my opinion. Tell her to suck it up for ONE day.  then maybe let her change at the recpetion.

  24. I think you should respect each other.

  25. its your day and no-one is going to be in pants besides the groom and grooms men i think that she should be able to suck it up and wear the dress or else she ain't in it.

(i for one hate wearing dresses and the only dress i am going to wear is my wedding dress is what i always said until my sister got married and i had to wear a dress and the only reason why i did it is because she is my sister and i love her.)
