Mail-In-Rebate Question?

What does void where taxed mean? It's on the bottom of a mail in rebate.

"Void where taxed, restricted or prohibited by law."

Does this mean if I paid tax on the item then rebate offer is no good?

Would really appreciate any help I can get. Thanks

  1. Some places prohibit or threaten to prohibit rebates because they are unfair to consumers. Not sure what the logic is. May be if you do not have an address to send the rebate to, you could not really file for it. Maybe because not everyone does the work to send for the rebate.

Send it in. Most places they are legal. If not legal in the town you live in they will let you know.
