Mail notification does not alert me anymore of new emails neither does messenger?

it just quite, I have a Mac OS, it was working fine...do I need to reinstal yahoo? and if so how do I uninstal yahoo on Mac?

This issue is now resolved. I spoke with the Yahoo! customer care team a short time ago. There was a glitch in the notification system causing mail alerts/notifications through My Yahoo!, Yahoo! Toolbar, and Yahoo! Messenger to not function properly. This glitch sent alerts of new emails to people that did not have emails. It also did not notify/alert people when they did have email. The problem started yesterday morning (July 19th) and went through until just a few moments ago. However, as stated, it is fixed now.

I'd like to know too. I have a PC but both the mail and IM notification have stopped. Since you are having the same problem I can assume that it is Yahoo s******g around with things that were already fine - again.

Have you checked your preferences?

open messenger.... top, messenger/preferences/alert and sounds  

make sure you have checked marked 'enable alerts and sounds'...
