Mailbox detached?

my mailbox detached from the mailbox post, and now its on the ground. but its still there. i havent gotten mail in a week, is it legal for the mailman not to deliver my mail because my mailbox isnt attached to the post?

You have to learn Mailboxes regulations.  The other poster is correct, as a penalty, you do not received mails.  Mailboxes height is also standard,  the standard says mailboxes should be about 3.5 ft to 4 ft. from the ground then it should maintained in that height.  I have place a link of a mailboxes regulation, please check, the first one is from USPS (US Postal Service)

No it is the other way around, it is illegal for you not to maintain your mailbox.
