  1. well, I jog more than run. From personal experience I feel it mostly in my glutes, calves and hams. But also thighs. So I guess my answer would be all your leg muscles.

And then of course your upper body works some too, just to keep your body erect during the run: back, abs, even some arms.

  2. Depends, are you jogging or sprinting? Sprinting is much heavier on your hamstrings and hip flexors. Jogging is going to be a little bit of everything but I would still focus mostly on the hammys, its a huge muscle that tightens up really easily.

  3. Without sounding sarcastic, the answer is the brain muscle.

Getting yourself to do it and continue doing it is the hardest part.

  4. Mostly hamstrings, glutes if you run up hills, quads if you're running down hills, IT band isn't a muscle.  Whatever is the weakest link is going to feel it the most.  A good massage therapist will be able to feel where the tension is and work apropriately.

  5. thigh... I dont know much about the massaging part, sorry :(
