Major Airlines and Online Degrees?

I notice that all the major airlines prefer a degree from a major university that is "accredited" but if you are already working with the regionals can you get an online degree that the majors will accept while your flying...Which online schools are "accredited" and accepted by the majors?

  1. I don't know but I also would like to know that!

At least it is just preferred now... but some still require it.

  2. Embry-Riddle is one place. I got my BS degree through their "external degree" program, which includes online courses, video courses, as well as traditional classes held at military bases and other facilities all over the US. I already had an AS, I suggest you get one of those first thru a community college or it will be very expensive to get the 4 year sheepskin. Also, their Professional Aeronautics program (if thats what it is still called) will give you some credit toward professional flying experience. That said, it is a fairly useless and expensive degree to have except for checking the box on an airline application.
