Major Dilemma - Please Help!!

I start school in two weeks (I am going to be a freshman), and I am on the Junior Varsity cheer squad. The varsity cheer squad always has to have 12 members, and one person just quit, so they need another person. They are holding tryouts for the Junior Varsity girls to move up to the Varsity team and I don't know whether I should try out. I have been on the Junior Varsity team since April and Varsity has also been together as a team and practicing since April. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros

I'll be on the top team as a freshman

I'll improve a lot more than if I stayed on Junior Varsity

We get to go to nationals

We get to cheer at more games

Cons

More time and money

More intense practices

I can try out for varsity next year or junior or senior year

I'll probably be the worst member of the Varsity squad

The Varsity cheerleaders are already friends with each other

I'm close friends with the Junior Varsity cheerleaders

Please HELP (I have to decide by 8/12/08 at 7.00am)

  1. If I were you, I'd go and try out. It would be amazing to be on varsity as a freshman. To add to your pros, you could also be a four year letterman (a rarity these days)

As far as being friends, well, you could still hang out with your JV friends outside of practice. And /hopefully/ you can make friends with the rest of varsity.

But also, you might not even make it, but it'll give you a good idea of where you stand.

so Go For it Girl ;)

    Good Luck
