Major League Baseball Special: What to expect from Los Angeles Dodgers in 2012...?
News is coming that the former National Basketball Association and Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar Magic Johnson will be awarded the Los Angeles Dodgers’ new ownership in few days leaving all the speculations behind that the current owner Frank McCourt is not interested to sell the bankrupt South Los Angeles baseball club.
Some experts have already linked Dodgers’ this season’s performance with the potential sale of the franchise. All the players in the Dodgers’ roster were in deep concerned over their club’s future. The Dodgers’ sale was lingering in the air for almost two years now, but with this recent development, the team will be more stable and at-least they can focus on the next season.
After getting the potential ownership of Dodgers, Johnson came out in the media saying, “I am thrilled to be part of the historic Dodger franchise and intend to build on the fantastic foundation laid by Frank McCourt as we drive the Dodgers back to the front page of the sports section in our wonderful community of Los Angeles.”
McCourt, the current Dodgers' owner also appreciated new development and said for Johnson, “This agreement with Guggenheim reflects both the strength and future potential of the Los Angeles Dodgers. We are delighted that this group will continue the important work we have started in the community, fulfilling our commitment to building 50 Dream Fields and helping with the effort to cure cancer.”
On contrary to Dodgers’ sale, now the expectations are high from the franchise. They will be going into the new season with new energy and try to show the opponents a high spirited performance. The National League Central has many top Major League teams and the Dodgers’ are one of them while if things went right and according to the plan, the results will be far different than last year’s outcome.
The Dodgers current management has put in-front the experienced mixed with young blood line-up for the next big event. From Dee Gordon to Mark Ellis and from Matt Kemp to Andre Ethier, all these players are included in the projected line-up for 2012. James Loney, Juan Rivera, Juan Uribe and A.J Ellis are also looking forward to be included in this year’s Dodgers’ line-up. The Dodgers’ potential rotation consists of Clayton Kershaw along with Chad Billingsly, Ted Lilly, Aaron Harang and Chris Capuano.
Looking at some scouts and experts late views as the Dodgers will be having slight difficulties, but with the level of experience will be unveiling their skills is also enormously huge while the chances are as they the Dodgers possess the capacity to pull things at the right moment. These scouts have also mentioned the weakness and strengths of the Dodgers current roster which will play a key role next season. The biggest strength of the Dodgers is its pitchers. They have some talented pitchers which can be compared with any existing franchise’s rotation.
On the other hand, the only thing the Dodgers need to worry about is their dire outfield. They need to come up with a different strategy this time around or need to make changes in the mid season break while if the Dodgers’ franchise understands this fact and handled the situation positively in the near future, the results will come in constructive way.
