Major League Commissioner Bud Selig shares his thoughts on All-Star game – MLB News
Baseball commissioner of the Major League, Bud Selig is currently talking to the media and spending some time elaborating the role of young players in the biggest baseball league in the world.
The All-Star game is scheduled on July 10 while the speculations about different new players and their potential outcome for each team is the primary subject of almost every media group.
Recently, the very same questions were asked from the baseball commissioner who told the media with great detail about the level of commitment these new players carry. Also, the level of talent they possess as well as their selection in this year’s All-Star game.
Regarding the media talk, Selig was not alone who was requested to come and share his thoughts on All-Star game. Instead there were number of other renowned sports related personalities who shared their expert opinions.
Bud Selig was joined with FOX Sports Media Group vice chairman Ed Goren and co-president along with co-COO Eric Shanks, Fox All-Star Game broadcasters Joe Buck and Tim McCarver.
Selig explained the role of young players in MLB, especially about the All-Star game which will bring all the players’ talent in the public and said, "I'm looking forward to next week, the All-Star Game and all the events we have, We're having a remarkable year on the field, and frankly off the field, as we're going over 37 million in attendance today. I don't want to jinx us, but I'm excited we have great [division] races, the two additional Wild Cards and it's just been a great year -- five no-hitters, two perfect games ... and you have the R.A. Dickey story."
Selig added with confidence, “People in our sport don't want any more, given our attendance and everything we're doing, we're in the right place with instant replay.”
Bud also commented on the successful first half of the season. He stated with quite briefness that the first half of the season has been a big achievement and the entire Major League organisation is hopeful that the season will end on a high note.
