Major League Baseball authorities are preparing for the new MLB draft system which will be held according to the new Collective Bargaining Agreement in June.
Recently, Sarasota, who is High School coach at Clyde Metcalf, has complete confidence in the coming draft and said, "I think we have to see how it goes before you can really pass judgment on it, I know it's going to shorten the window for decisions for those kids. They're going to have to have a better idea going in about what they will take or what they won't take."
The new draft rules will try to ease the gap between wealthy and somewhat low budgeted clubs of the Major League. Over the years, this debate has put the Major League top management under enormous pressure that something should be done for this growing argument of rich and poor clubs which often create controversies regarding signing players.
However, MLB authorities including the baseball commissioner Bud Selig agreed with MLB owners to introduce a new draft method via new CBA while that draft system will be trying to lower the discrimination on the bases of finances.
"It's a huge benefit, just for the kids to get comfortable in what they're doing, just to understand how it works being a professional and make that adjustment," said Arizona Diamondbacks director of scouting Ray Montgomery. "That's mostly what the first year is, adjustment, just like any new job."
The new CBA has proposed that every MLB team will get a bonus as pool money and using that particular money, the teams will sign their respective players for first 10 rounds. From the least performers of 2011 and to top team, the Draft will give every team the every right to sign a player within their price range.
Experts believe that with the arrival of new Major League Draft System, the players will be signed according to their talents and skills. On the other hand, some experts also say that this upcoming June Draft will somewhat distract and reduce the attraction for audience as every team will be treated fairly.
