my goldfish(silk) has been acting wierd lately, she has been pooping extremely much for the past 5 days, its usually a long trail of p**p that dosent even come out of her butt, and i heard that it takes a fish 5 minutes to p**p their f***s out but it takes about a hour for silk to do it. heres a picture of her pooping again but this time not a really big trail of it.http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l300/us4298/0826081007-1.jpg

heres the long trail http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l300/us4298/silk1.jpg

also she has been pooping alot but i didnt feed her for about 2 days and i dont know where shes getting the p**p, i think its either the p**p that is hiden in the gravel because shes sucking it, or the bacteria from the filter because she appears to be sucking on that also. heres a pic of her sucking on the gravel sorry if its not clear. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l300/us4298/0826081016.jpg

  1. at least its not constipated :)

  2. It may not be unusual, but try adding more fiberous foods to help pass waste (she may be constipated).  You could try pre-soaking shrimp pellets in water and giving them to her (1-2 a day would be fine - it is what I give to my pleco).

The sucking is actually foraging, they always seem to think they are hungry, or she may just be bored.

    Best of luck.

  3. I don't think there is anything wrong with your fish. Have you ever seen a common pleco p**p? Well if you haven't, theirs are even more massive than that. Are you feeding it a varied diet? You should try to alternate with different types of food so they can get a balanced diet. But don't worry, your fish is fine.

  4. gold fish, koi and carp are VERY messy little critters. plus they grow quickly and on a massive scale.  if your tank has plants, they like to eat the roots. if not, i think she's fine though you may need a bigger tank soon:)

  5. there is nothing wrong with your goldfish

    kOi keeper & goldfish keeper

  6. My fish p**p constantly.  I own platies so they eat the algae off the gravel.  Goldfish need bigger tanks because they p**p more than regular fish.  I do not think this is a problem.  Now if you said that your fish never poops, then I would be concerned.
