i want to major in liberal studies and become a elemantary teacher. but everyone is sayin no because they dont make good money! help

  1. The are correct, teachers are generally underpaid for the stress their jobs bring on them.


  2. its up 2 u what you want to do they get paid a reasonable amount not the best salary in the world but u go for it i bet ur very bright go for it

  3. Make sure you check out the liscence requirements in your state so you take the right classes and get the right degree (the education department of your college can help you with that) before starting.

    The money issue - if you love what you're doing, and you'll be happy, then it's worth it.

    BIG PLUS:  SUMMERS OFF!!!!!(that makes it worth it for me).  You may want to go to one of the elemenary schools in your area and see if you can talk to a couple of teachers and get their input.

  4. You should do what you think will make you happy.  However, if you really do want to become a teacher, you should check with the state education department on their requirements.  Some states require that you have specific degrees.  For example, some states may require you to have your major be Early Childhood Education in order to be an elementary school teacher.
