OK so i have a sony camera. (I dont know the model)

But the camera saves all of its data onto a memory stick(like the kind that you would put into a psp)

Whenever i am done recording a clip and put the memory stick into my computer and the clips play fine, but i cant put them into the movie editor! I always get an error!

Ive had the same problem on many other movie editors!

How can i fix this!

I want to be able to save the vidoes onto my memory card and then edit them bec ause it makes the whole proccess much easier.

  1. It depends on the Sony camera. Since you are posting to the Camcorder area, the only camcorders that Sony makes that save video to memory sticks are:

    http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stor...

They all save very highly compressed high definition footage using AVCHD compression. Windows MovieMaker cannot deal with this format. Sony Vegas Platinum can.

If you are using a still camera manufactured by Sony and saving highly compressed MPEG2 video to the memory stick, you need to convert that to something MovieMaker can use... like DV or .avi. There are lots of converters available for download, but I suggest you post this question in the Camera area.
