  1. I'm doing this too! It can lead to all sorts of jobs like.. environmental agencies, planning, consultancies, law (environmental lawyers), environmental management or even businesses (I think all businesses now have to employ an environmental representative), teaching, services an public policy. I went to an open day recently and they said that something like 90% of their graduates got full-time jobs after leaving. It is such a diverse subject, what you are going to study will depend on the place and what you choose. It can be anything like soils, conservation, geology, weather, envrionmental monitoring, ecology, animal behaviour, aquatic science, remote sensing, hydology....and lots of other things.

    Good choice!

  2. can you tell us what school you are going to?

  3. Many private businesses and industries employ environmental scientists to provide environmental consulting services, to design and operate pollution remediation and health and safety activities, and to ensure environmental regulation compliance. The field of environmental protection includes opportunities in solid and hazardous waste management, air and water quality management, and environmental restoration and remediation. Natural resource management includes such job areas as forestry, parks, water, fisheries, wildlife management and land conservation. Other environmental scientists specialize in environmental law, community planning, policy analysis or environmental education in both governmental and private sectors.

The program consists of both introductory and advanced work in biology, chemistry, geology and physics. Added to the scientific foundation are courses in economics, public policy, technical writing and environmental regulations – all of which are designed to help the student understand the underlying causes of many environmental problems, public perception of environmental problems, and the business and government systems with which one must work as an environmental scientist.
