Does Make A Wish Foundation grant wishes to children with Autism? My husband was wondering if we'd be kidding ourselves if we try and get Make A Wish to grant a wish four 3 year old autistic son a trip to WDW. We are financial incapable of taking affording a family vacation (long story).

  1. Make-A-Wish is for children with life-threatening medical conditions. Unfortunately, this does not include autism, sorry :(

As to the "won't live very long" comment. Please refrain from spreading misinformation. This is a huge misconception about Make-A-Wish.  Many children that are granted wishes go on to live very long, fulfilling lives.

The organization is not only for dying, terminal children. This fallacy often prevents some children/parents from calling the foundation as they feel once they do they have admitted to themselves that they are dying.

You can find more info about Make-A-Wish at www.wish.org

Also try looking at www.gktw.org - this is the website of Give Kids the World which is where children stay at Disney when grated a wish. They work with many wish granting organizations around the country and may have some further info for you.

  2. I think it only grants wishes to children who are physically ill and probably won't live very long.
