Make It Better dominant in the Greenmount Annual Membership (Q.R.) Handicap
The fourteen gathered for the Greenmount Annual Membership (Q.R.) Handicap have their gaze glued at the winner’s share from the total prize money of €4,830. The two mile and five furlong race will be hosted by Limerick on Monday, 12th November. Leading the four-year-old and above participants are, Big Jemmy and Make It Better. Both have been comparatively better than the rest who have been struggling for form and rankings since quite a while.
The eight-year-old bay mare, Make It Better, lost the winning streak that could have gone to five through her most recent outing, which actually was the seasonal debut.
All her successes were at Irish race courses. She drew curtains to the 2011 campaign by winning as the favourite of the Glenview & Rathbarry Studs Mares Hunters Chase on 25th April, 2011 at Cork over three  miles.
The most preferred entry for the race was paired up with jockey, Mr. M. J. O’Connor. The two took keen pursuit of the leaders, and soon recovered from the early mistakes by taking up the third position when the first four furlongs went down.
Her second position was tested by the reeling in rival, Mocklershill Lass, who got defeated by good seventeen lengths once the favourite pair went in charge when the final two furlongs were still to be raced over.
Filling in the third position was, Magical Mother.
The race today will be the second career outing for the bay mare, Make It Better, who suffered through a miserable start of the campaign.
Son Of Sharp Shot’s daughter, Make It Better, ended fifteenth in the line-up of eighteen in the Leugh (Q.R.) Handicap Hurdle on 25th October, 2012 at Thurles over two miles and six furlongs.
The race was won by the favourite entry, Cool Oscar, who had Mr. D. L. Queally onboard, and defeated Preswell Lad by seven lengths.
The only other contestant who can give the mare competition is the ten-year-old chestnut gelding, Big Jemmy, who has been striving to maintain form since the last four outings.
He took off the season by winning the Tom Carroll Memorial Handicap Chase on 1st January, 2012 at Tramore race course over two miles and five furlongs.
