  1. STAIR RAILINGs :]]] and the things that hold them up

  2. Hmm, I have thought the same thing lol.

Try the bottom of those folding tables? Know what i mean? Like this:

You will need two of those kinds of tables (one bottom on each side). I think it will work, because on the free standing barres, the bottoms are usually that shape.

I find that The Barre Company is the cheapest for barres. I am getting one in Spetember ofr my birthday. Since it's for home use, I got the smallest (4 inches long) and only a single bar. You may want to talk to your parents about just buying one rather then putting the time and affort into building one.

Hope this helps, have a nice day =)

  3. PVC pipe is usually a good solution for a homemade barre.

its light, so its easy to move out of the way if you need.

    Is cheap -ish

and its fairly easy to put together.

You need the pvc in various lengths (the hardware store can probably cut to size anything you cant purchase at the right length)

    one long piece

2 short pieces for the legs

and 4 mini pieces for the leg supports

you also need 2 "t" joints for the leg supports and 2 elbow joints for where the barre meets the legs and 4 caps for the open ends of the leg supports.

Put it all together and Voila!  If it works well, you can epoxy the joints to make them permanent.

The one drawback is that PVC cannot withstand tons of weight, so its better for a single dancer at home than a studio situation.
