Jed empitied his piggy bank in which he kept only 10c, 20c and 50c coins. He ground that he had 20 coins to the value of $5. He offered to buy lunch for any class mate who could work out how many 10c coins he had!Stop and try the problem before reading any further.Jed's class mates complained that 4 different answers were possible! So Jed gave an extra clue. He said that the number of 20c coins is less than half the number of 50c coins.
