Make a risk analysis if the said purifier is allowed to operate. (Please read the following situation first.)?

As you were doing your routine watch keeping inside the engine room, you found out that the number 1 centrifugal purifier’s water seal lost its water tight integrity, and oil from the gravity disc started to mix with the other effluents on the outlet side of the purifier. Make a risk analysis if the said purifier is allowed to operate.

Bring on #2 purifier and rebuild #1.  You are just risking damaging more parts.  #1 is broken fix it.  Every system on a ship should have back up some how.

I don't know the answers to any of the three questions you've asked here, but I'm a little suspicious of someone trying to pass a marine engineering test via Yahoo Answers. What kind of engineer will you be if you can't figure these out on your own? Certainly not one I'd trust on MY vessel.
