  1. It depends how the picture was taken. Was it with film? If so, the smaller number film the bigger the picture can be made. For example, a picture taken with 100 speed film can be enlarged much bigger than one taken with 400 speed.

If taken with a digital camera, it depends on the settings of the camera.

You can download gimp for free online. It is free and can be used like photoshop. Change the picture size and see if it comes out okay.

  2. theres a free site called LUNAPIC.COM

make a quick account, then you can start doing a whole bunch of junk to your pictures, like making them large.

  3. No way for a non-professional to do that.Go to a pro.

  4. You'll have better luck if it is an ACTUAL photograph, taken with a film camera and the print made from negative.  A photo like this can be enlarged more successfully than a small digital photo.

Film grain is pretty fine, and the particles are MUCH smaller than pixels so, when enlarged, you may be able sot see the grain, but it is not as distracting as big, boxy pixels.  A professional film processor has the equipment to do it right.  If you want to do it at home, then scan the photo at the highest resolution possible, and then make some test prints to see how far you can take it.

But, if you are asking about enlarging a digital photo, I must advise you that there is no real way of getting much of an increase in size.

  5. It depends on the quality of the photo or the resolution if the picture is not a high resolution  or a good quality picture when you enlarge it it will look stretched and pixelated  take it to a a place where they print photos professionally it will be worth the extra money and it will be a great gift i'm sorry about your friend may he be in a better place

  6. There are ways, but there will always be some JPEG artifacts that will make the image look distorted. There is a Plug-In for Photoshop that I own called Alien Skin Blow-Up. That will resize the image and not create any of the traditional JPEG artifacts, but it still has some artifacts of it's own, albiet, it creates a more pleasant image than traditional resizing. For an example, I have an image linked below that was blown up 300%. There is no nudity, but I would say it's NSFW, because it shows "Woody" from the Toy Story with an erection.

  7. photo bucket has an editing station where you can enlarge or shrink the pictures and use other effects on it, you just need to make an account and click edit picture after you upload it.

  8. srry for ur loss

    you can make it bigger

    good luck

  9. you can go to a store like Walgreen's or CVS

they have machines to do that =]

    srry about ur friend

  10. use thinypic.com

  11. really, there isn't.  if the resolution of the image isn't high, you can only enlarge it so much without pixelating it.  no machine or software program can magically create pixels that were never there.  you could try different  effects to fill in and guess at the blanks, but it probably won't look right.

  12. Raster images like digital photos always look pixelated when you enlarge them - they don't actually contain any more detail than they did when they are small. That said, a professional can fake it so it doesn't look pixelated sometimes, effectively like drawing a picture based on the photograph, but so it still looks like a photograph. That would be your best bet.

  13. Sit closer to the screen.
