I just had my Yamaha Banshee 92' Freshly and fully rebuilt. It has a new crankshaft, pistons, sleeves, case all that. Anyway before I brought it in it start first kick everytime cold or hot, now it can take somtimes 2 kicks sometimes 20, you eventually get tired and have to switch with someone else......Also a random question, when I just changed oil after giving it some hours of breaking it in, the Idle went up. Why is that?

  1. You'll need to do the truoble shooting thing.  Start with cleaning/replacing the plug.  Assuming you have adequate compression move on to fuel.  Clean and flush the fuel line and carb float bowl.  Use aersol carb cleaner to make sure all of the fuel and air passages are clear.  Install an in-line fuel filter between the tank and carb.   Since the engine has been out of the frame, make sure all carb, airbox and vacum tubes are securely fastened.  Also clean or replace the air cleaner.

  2. Check for an air leak between the carbs & the engine...
