  1. Try going to skinID.com and taking their skin profile thing. Then order the products it suggest or just go buy something similiar! It treats all kinds of problem like oily or dry skin, and the different types of pimples. SkinID is a Neutrogena product just in case you didn't know. =]] Hope I helped

  2. I have oily, acne-prone skin, and this is what I use:

    1. Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Foaming Scrub

    2. Dickinson's Witch Hazel Toner

    3. Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Treatment

    4. Garnier Nutrisioniste Daily Moisture Lotion SPF 15 in the morning and at night I use The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Blemish Fade Night Lotion

Once a week, I use Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

  3. -wet/moisten your face with warm water (to open up your pores)

-take some of the face wash/cleanser and rub it on your face until it foams

    -massage well but gently

-let it (cleanser) sit for 15 seconds

-rinse well with cold water (to close your pores)

-pat dry with towel or you can air dry (which I prefer)

-apply the toner with a cotton ball in a circular motion

-here's a trick, when the toner's still a little damp, apply your favorite moisturizer (make sure you're putting on the right amount of moisturizer)

Do the following steps every day and night.

*Apply a moisturizer containing spf during the day.

*Exfoliate your face every ONCE in a week and do it really gently. I suggest you mix honey, lemon juice and sugar, make a great exfoliator or you can use a good brand, I suggest neutrogena invigorating foaming scrub or st.ives apricot scrub. Although exfoliation can remove dead skin cells and reveal a brighter skin, it can also cause you to breakout if done harshly.

*Treat yourself to a very good face mask. Clay masks for oilier skin and gel mask for a dry skin. I'd still prefer homemade =) http://beauty.about.com/od/skinflaws/a/f...

*Drink atleast 6 glasses/2.5 liters of water everyday.

    *Have a good diet

Well, I hope this helped! =)

  4. i use proactive and i have been acne free and its not that expensive. i have the exact same thing as u my skin is soo oily i hate it. i strted my proactive at the beginnig of the summer and have kept up with it. and i am acne free. it really works!!! hope this helps

  5. 1st - wet your face w/ tolerable hot/warm water. this opens pores

2nd - use any cleanser you like...somethign for oily skin or clarifying

or if you still get black heads they have cleansers for that!

theres somany options you may want to experimant and find which brand/type reacts best w/ your skin

3rd - rinse with cold water to tighten now clean pores

4th - tone. toners tighten pores so they look better and small pores don't get as much oil/dirt in them

...most cleansers will come in a full line...cleanser tone and...

5th - moisturize! oil free face lotion. one reason our skin produces oil

is because it thinks our face is to dry and produces more oil to fix that

so you can't skip this step!

finally get some exfoiliating scrub to use twice a week

and if your skin gets shiney blotting papers to get rid of excess oil

    during the day

  6. Iam a Registered Nurse and I specialize in skin care and teen acne.

In my experience of 12 years alot of  commercial store bought  like the ones you mentioned products DO NOT WORK as most of the time they will over dry your skin.

Your question is very broad and you need to get professional advice. I will explain why it's a broad question!

Your age plays a role! How old are you? Do you always have breakouts?

However, acne can result from several factors such an increase in hormone levels. In males testosterone or androgens. In females, androgens respectively. The increase in androgen levels can stimulate the oil glands to become enlarged and thus more oil production is produced. An increased oil production can clog the pores with oil or sebum ( white thick substance) which cause the cell walls of the pores in the skin to breakdown. This process allows bacteria to form and thus breakouts develop.

Genetics may also be a cause. It is a myth that greasy food or chocolate causes breakouts.

However, using make-up sponges that are not changed or washed often can contaminate the pores with bacteria which may develop into acneic breakouts.

If you are a teenager ( which I assume that you are) your hormones play a definite role in your breakouts.

The most important thing is that you need products that are AGE APPROPRIATE! Every age group has different products appropriate for them. If you are young than you need milder products as to not dry out your beautiful young skin.

The problem with commercial skin products is that they are manufactured for MASSES OF PEOPLE and are not specifically made for different peoples' needs.

Your skin type is different than mine and your age differs from mine so how is it logical that we both use the same skin product for breakouts. We need different strengths of cleansers and toners. Do you kind of understand what I am getting at?

Here is my STRONG SUGGESTION for you. I refer all my students and patients to this website:

    www.aboutyourskincare.com

You need to consult with professionals and on this website YOU CAN ASK QUESTIONS FOR FREE AND A SKIN EXPERT/PHYSICIAN WILL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. It would be a shame if you dont take advantage of this free service.

Lastly, they have incredible products for breakouts and they make them specifically for every kind of skin type. That means that if your breakouts are more severe than mine, than while we both will buy the same product yours will have stronger ingredients than mine will.

They have a mild glycolic acid cleanser that's great for your type of skin and also a DRYING LOTION ( I have 3 bottles) that you put directly on your breakouts and the next day it's gone. It's truely magic in a bottle.

A basic guideline for properly taking care of your skin is this ( now if you're a young girl you will need fewer products than this):

    Night time:

    1. Exfoliate the skin

    2. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser

    3. Mild Glycolic Acid Toner ( cleans off the excess debris and balances the PH level of the skin).

    4. Drying Lotion used only on breakouts

    5. Moisturizer

    Morning:

    1. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser

    2. Moisturizing cream

The above is a standard you may need to only use one or two products. Visit: www.aboutyourskincare.com

As I suggested and click on the ASK FOR FREE section send them an email and you will get free expert skin care advice.

    Good Luck to you,

    Michelle

  7. tea tree oil soap - liquid for face and bar soap for body acne

followed by tea tree oil diluted with water on cotton pad after as toner/acne fighter. do clean and refreshing

they sldo sell wipes for on the go to

    at Body SHop.com

  8. Some products just won't work. I'm a dermatologist, and I know that you need to try out several products until you find the right one. One that I would suggest, though, is 'Acne Free'. It is a great package of everything you need for a very cheap price. This kit includes moisterizer, polisher, and enhancer. It's great. But the one thing I personally use and LOVE is 'Apricot Scrub' for your face from Target. It is less than $5 and it works wonders! Here's all you have to do:

    1. Wash your face with warm water. Make sure you get your entire face wet, and your hands as well (this makes it easier to apply the cream)

    2. Apply a dollop of Apricot Scrub onto your face, rub gently for 2-6 minutes until it starts to feel dry

    3. Use a washcloth and COLD water to rub off the scrub

    4. PAT your face dry. Don't rub the water off. Patting is the key to keeping a clean and clear face.

    KEY:

Warm/hot water=opens pores (so it's best to start with hot water)

Cold water=closes pores (so it's best to end with cold water to close your pores for the day or the night of sleep you'll be needing)

I hope this helps! I've been a dermatologist for several years, and I find all this helpful as I suggest it to patients everyday!

  9. Heyy Chicka!

These are all the products I use that I think help my skin a lot~

Neutrogena Wave- I use this first to open up my pores. Use hot water on it.

    http://www.neutrogenawave.com

Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser- I use this ON the Wave so I get more bubbles and a cleaner feeling.

    http://www.neutrogena.com/ProductsDetail...

I also use the Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Scrub at night.

    http://www.neutrogena.com/ProductsDetail...

I use the Neutrogena Alchahol-Free Toner occasionally.

    http://www.neutrogena.com/ProductsDetail...

If I feel to lazy to wash my face, I use Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Towelettes.

    http://www.neutrogena.com/ProductsDetail...

After I wash my face, I moisturize it with Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer.

    http://www.neutrogena.com/ProductsDetail...

Everything is from the Neutrogena Product Line, and I use it because it's hypo-allergenic, oil-free, alchahol-free, unscented, and feels great on my skin. I trust it 100% because there's nothing I'm not really familiar with.

For my hair I use the Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Pin Straight product line, which smells absolutley ah-mazing!

    http://www.herbalessences.com/us/collect...

For my body I use the Hello Sugar! Bath line from Bath & Body Works. It smells fantastic!

    http://bathandbodyworks.com/Hello!Sugar

    Tip-Hot Water Opens Up Pores

Everything That I suggested belongs to a line of products that all match.

I have also heard of http://www.skinID.com , but have never actually used their products. It's made by Neutrogena, though. I still use the Neutrogena products in the blue bottle and the Wave, and I think those are the best and fairly inexpensive. The only thing that is kind of costly is the bath line, Hello Sugar!, but I think it is worth every cent. The lotion is about $8, and the body spray is about $12, but that's as high as it gets. The Herbal Essence shampoo is about $1.50 at Wal-Mart, and I think it is a really fun shampoo.

Anyways, I kind of got side tracked, and I worked on this answer for 30 minutes, and I Hope I Helped!!!
