Make my own lamp shade?

I really want a zebra print lamp shadow to go with the rest of my room, but I can't find one anywhere. So, if I just buy a regular lamp with a white shade, buy some soft, slightly furry zebra print fabric, and cover the white lamp shade, would it come out looking cheap and be noticeable that I made it, or would it look unique and kinda designer-ish?

And how do I make a pillow-case?

I don't know how to make a lampshade, but it's easy to make a pillow case. I learned in school when I was in sixth grade :)

Just take the fabric you want (two pieces) and place them on top of each other, with the two sides you don't want to show facing outward. Then just sew them together on a sewing machine. It's easy. I hope that makes sense though, it was kinda hard for me to explain..........
