Make-up/Face problem! Help?

Whenever I put on my makeup, I make sure that my face is moisturized, but not greasy. I put on the makeup, and within just a few hours, my face is all greasy, the makeup is messed up because of the grease, etc. It's just...GROSS!! I'm 16, and I've NEVER had any issues with overly-oily skin. What can I do to prevent this makeup issue?

Thank you in advance!!! :D

  1. Well... here are a few tips.  If you find that your skin is getting overly oily you can try moisturizing your face at night and not before makeup application.  It could be your moisturizer or it could be your makeup that is doing it.  Make sure that you have fresh foundation/face powder every 3 months.  As you continue to re-dip into the makeup you are adding facial oils into it and over time this creates breakdown of makeup wear and bacteria buildup in the makeup itself.  You can also consider using an oil free makeup (if you must try new makeup try to find a Sally Beauty Supply store, their prices are better than thoes at a drug store, the products are salon quality and all is returnable if you hate it).  Use brushes instead of the "sponge" or "poof" that comes with your makeup.  By tapping the makeup into your skin, you are getting it into all of the nooks and crannies of your skin instead of putting a fine coat over it that breaks down over the day... a good set of brushes for all makeup application is a girls best friend.  Good luck.

  2. You can use a mattifying gel to get rid of all the oil on your face before you apply all your makeup.

    Use a matte foundation.

    Apply pressed or loose powder.

For touchups apply loose or pressed powder to your t-zone

Or use oil blotting sheets WITHOUT MINERAL OIL

  3. It sounds like you have extra oily skin. The Clinique counter would classify you as a skin type IV. Meaning you are super oily. They have an excellent 3 step skin care for that skin type. It includes liquid face soap for oily skin, clarifying lotion/toner and dramatically different moisturizing gel. The moisturizing lotion would be too greasy for your skin type. They also have many products to help with pores and excess oiliness. They also have great makeups for oily skin that stay on great and a few are even water proof. So go online or for better help, stop by the Clinique counter at your local department store.
