Make up ( I have never worn make up )?

How come when girls do wear make up , they always do it in a long period of time ? Cause i dont really think girls need to wear Lots of make up all they need is a little gloss & little blush ( i think ) So why do girls & teens wear alot ?

I don't know really. I go to school feeling far more confident if I have make up on. I actually believe I learn more wearing make up. I have more confidence to ask questions and participate in class discussions and stuff. It makes me feel less ugly. If I go to school wearing no make up I feel really ugly which makes me more self concious of people looking at me. I don't want every one looking at me and thinking "Oh shes so ugly!" . I don't do it to be pretty or to impress boys, I just want to fit in and be unoticed. Anyway I wear foundation (quite a bit) and mascara but I tint my eyelashes as well so sometimes I can give the mascara a miss. I don't waste my time with too much alse.

Eh.

It helps to ease most of us and gives us the confideance to face ourselves and everyone else.

I just use a little eyeliner on the bottom of my eyes, skimmy foundation, lipgloss & light eyeshadow.

i think it is a confidence booster

eyeliner and mascara is great stuff!

and sometimes lipgloss

no blush.

and not that much of any of those. but in moderate amounts

Honestly, it has a lot to do with self-esteem. Many girls feel like they need to cover up their skin to make it look perfect(but let's be real-it just looks cakey and disgusting) because it's what we see in ads. Girls take their cues from the women they see in the media spotlight at that moment-notice that most celebrities don't look like they have bad skin and they tend to look perfect. i guess most don't realize that it's because they dont load the makeup on so they look totally beautiful and natural. i went through a stage where i was using concealer, then foundation, topped off with powder, blush, lots of eyeliner, mascara and lipgloss. the whole effect is very fake and kind of heavy feeling. Many girls i know get obsessive about their looks so they take a long time scrutinizing every little thing and decide to cover everything up.

personally, it makes me feel a bit less self conscious! all i wear is a tinted moiturizer, blush, and mascara (: it makes me feel a whole lot better about myself, just enhancing what i already have right?

several reasons:

- for fun, girlie fun :)

- a lotta girls are not blessed with flawless skin, so they need to cover blemishes, acne scars etc.

- those who have flawless skin, may not necessarily have beautiful features like fuller lips, eyes, cheekbones.

- some are truely gifted with flawless skin, beautiful features and apply makeup to even look more flawless.
