I have brown skin that's quite dark.

I need stuff to cover up my acne, but i don't know how to pick the Right shade because it always never matches up! and I don' t know weather to buy foundation, tinted moisturiser, concealer sticks...

I need-

blusher

eyeshadow

lippie

liquid eyeliner

mascara

eyeliner pencil

cover up stuff...

Do you kow any good brands for the above, how to pick the right shade and what to use in terms of cover up and what eyeshadow would look good, and I am going to stick to black eyeliner and mascara! no wild colours!!! I don't have a fortune to spend though.

  1. well u cud get bleaching cream , amke ur skin lighter. then use any ordanary foundation.. then powder

  2. Boots No. 7 brand have a "clever" foundation that comes in three colours (I think light, medium & dark) which blend quite well into most skin tones. I would suggest trying it on the back of your hand to see how well the colour matches you own though. They also have various cover up sticks that match with that foundation, though I find that I mostly only ever need the foundation to cover up my blemishes, it really does depend on the person. Tinted moisturiser is, generally, not enough to cover up acne...

For blusher, the colour should be as close as possible to your natural "flushed" colour, the colour of your cheeks after say, a workout or heavy exercise? To tone it down during the daytime you can put a translucent powder over the top of it, too.

Lipstick colours are hard to reccomend to people. If you're going for a red, then a blue-red will make your teeth appear whiter and prettier when you smile, though may be a bit much for day to day wear.

If you want bright colours for eyeshadow makes such as stargazer, manic panic and Barry M are brilliant. If you're not confident with makeup techniques then a pressed powder eyeshadow is quite useful, otherwise pigments are fun to experiment with, though you'll need an eyeshadow base for them to show up properly.

I'd suggest going to your nearest chemist and playing with the makup counter to find things you like. Failing that a lot of department stores do makeup lessons/makeovers for free or very little, where they will show you what colours suit you and then give you the opporutnity to  buy the products they used on you.

  3. The great thing about having a dark complection is that you can use all the bright colours.

    - Foundation MICA Bella Cosmetics makes an all natural mineral Foundation/Concealer, it is in powder for so for the foundation all you need to do is add a little water.  I have trouble with acne to and ever since using this product it has diminished about 95%.

    - Blush, any really bright pink will make your skin glow. Blush should only be used on the balls of your checks, so smile when you apply it.

    - Eye shadow any colour you feel like really if you have brown eyes say away from the dark brown shades but Gold always looks great on dark skin tones.

    - Black mascara is always the best.

    - Don’t use eyeliner, get a nice angled brush and apply the shadow to your lower or upper lid of your eyes.

    - Make up without chemicals can be more expensive, but it last long and it much better for your skin, also investing in a good set of brushes, they will last you forever.

A tip:  Once you have any type of powder on a brush tap it on the back of your hand so you don’t get a caked on look.  If you want a bolder look just apply a little more till you say it’s good.

  4. hi, i'm italian, (my english is quite horrible!!!) well, for your skin, i advise you to apply a natural compress of clay, (i used it, it's good) and for your dark eyes, i think it's suitable a white eyeliner pencil, without eyeshadow.... this is my opinion, i don't know your tastes... ciao, bacino...

  5. k, i'll work with what you've said...

i take it you have brown eyes? what i'd do is use are nice gold colours for your eyeshadow.. try to go the lightest colour that will suit your skin tone and that looks natural because opposite eyeshadow makes your eyes stand out more. .

i actually use a white eyeliner on the rims in my eyes, it makes them appear larger and more awake as well. it would look cute if you put a slight wing at the top or your eyelid, at the end with your black eyeliner

for lips, i don't know what colouring/shape they are so i'm going to go for the clear gloss on that one.

i don't know your eyeshape, so i don't know what type of mascara would go good with your eyes so i think i'm going to recommend 'define-a-lash' by maybelline - not expensive, sold at wal-mart. i like it.

i personally don't use a lot of cover up but i do use a foundation that's creamy and weightless and it's called 'matte mousse' - again by maybelline.

    k, that's all i think i can help you with. :)

  6. idk any brands, but i saw this commercial on TV for a foundation that blends into ur skin! Its sooo awesome.

  7. Hi I'm asian and i have dark skin and i use No7. intelligent foundation.. it changes colour to match your skin colour its really good and light. IT MAKES YOUR SKIN LOOK AIR BRUSHED.

    Is also lasts forever.

    Hope i've helped.
