  1. Yes, it does make sense.  It happens to me, too!

One thing you can do, even though it sounds a bit weird, is to hold a piece of toilet paper or a tissue on your cheek while you're applying the eyeshadow. This way it all gets on the toilet paper instead of your cheek.

Do you use eye primer before you put your eyeshadow on? For me, I always get less grains falling if I do. I think that's because it helps the eyeshadow stick to the eye more so that less falls off. So using a primer might help.

Another useful thing would be to get a kabuki brush. That way, if you get the grains on your cheek, you can brush it off and it shouldn't smudge that way.

    Good luck!

  2. Put it on in layers. Don't put your foundation on to after your eye makeup so you can take it off with a little soap and water or make up remover. Astringent pads work well too.

  3. Well one thing you can do is when dipping the brush into the eyeshadow, Before you put it on your eyelid, tap of the excess because that's whats falling under your eye.And also use a little shadow at a time and build to the intensity that you want...

Another trick is to pat translucent powder under your eye and on your cheek bone after you've applied everything except your eyeshadow. You want to visibly see the powder. This creates a protective layer between your skin and the shadow so once your done applying your shadow the little shadow bits will just just brush away along with the excess translucent powder

  4. Yes, I know exactly what you are talking about!

Load less shadow on the brush and build it up more gradually. Tap the brush first so anything loose already comes off of it. Try to hold a piece of tissue where it falls.

I have not tried this yet, but I read about it somewhere. Put translucent powder on your cheeks where the extra eye shadow falls so when you are finished you can brush it all away together.

  5. after you wipe your brush in the makeupp blow on the brush gently to get the lose powders off of it and then put it on

  6. everybody has this problem...

Being a makeup artist i have 2 ways of stopping this from happening,

#1 while you're putting on your eyeshadow with your other hand hold a kleenex across your cheekbone.  you should still have a finger free if you need to pull on your eyelid or whatever.

#2 put TONS of powder (either clear face powder or powder foundation) on you're cheekbones before you start doing you're eyeshadow. When you're done you can just use a big brush to brush off all the powder and whatever has fallen on top of it while you did your eyeshadow.

If these both fail and you STILL get "grains" on your face just use a que-tip with a tiny bit of makeup remover and dab at the area very lightly. if this works best for you wait until after you're finished your eyeshadow to put on blush, highlighter, or bronzer  so that you don't have little circles of where its missing from the quetip.

  7. Use a cream eyeshadow as a base so that your eyeshadow color goes on evenly and doesn't crease.

If the problem still occurs, it's probably because your eyeshadow isn't blended out too well, or the eyeshadow quality isn't very good.

Typically a good eyeshadow [like from NYX] shouldn't crease and have specks falling off ... Unless it's loose powder shadow?
