Makeovers in stores?

Question

I heard about getting a makeover done in a store with nice make up, by the assistants and I was wondering

1. Is it free?

2. I'm only 14, am I allowed?

Yes, its free but, they will want you to but the products.

I work in a department store on a make up counter. It depends on the counter the more premium brands may charge about £10 which you can redeem against a purchase. My counter doesn't charge and as far as i know there is no age limit! Well its not in our policy anyway!  Ive done make overs on toddlers because their mums have had a makeover and they have asked if i could put abit of glitter on to keep them quiet!!

Best thing to do is look really interested in buying something as i know some of my colleagues get a bit fed up thinking people are just using us to get a free makeover before a party!

But i think its the best way work i don't see the point of us standing around looking pouty , orange and bored when we could be doing make overs! Even if we don't get a sale it might be something you came back for later and if you don't its no skin of my orange nose!

Sort of free. You don't get anything for nothing. You will be put under a lot of pressure to buy the products which earn the assistant commission. If the assistant thinks you are unlikely to spend a load of money (like because of your age) she may choose someone else rather than you.

& the assistants try to sell you on the products they use on you.

You usually have to buy something but the body shop and MAC do them :)
