Makes repeated beeps, doesn't seem to work. 320Gb simpletech external harddrive, lost manual

Question

320Gb simpletech external harddrive, lost manual trying to figure it out I have a SimpleTech 500 GB Pininfarina USB. I've been using it without problem for over a year. Recently it just stopped working. I turn it on and the blue light on the top comes on, it hums as if trying to read and then a red light on top blinds, but my laptop can no longer see it and I can't get my photos off. I notified Simpletech support but have not received a reply. Please help
