Makeup Help? Advice from girls only!!!

Im 13 and want to know a few questions about makeup.

When should i start using makeup without seeming like a s**t?

What makeup is good for beginners?

I want to experiment with mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner, etc. (Anything that brings out my eyes). And I also like the blush that comes with the brush not the pad.

How should i confront my mom about allowing me to wear makeup?

P.S. I know how much makeup to apply and i also understand that too much makeup is bad (I should look like im not even wearing makeup).

Just want you to know that i understand that =]

  1. i think you sound as if you are ready to handel that stage of life. just remember that the cost of your upkeep is up to you. my granddaughter is 9 and on sundays she is allowed to wear make up. and she ask for advice of how to apply it. She does well, and she buys her own lip gloss. Remember to be a s**t is a choice, and make up does not make a woman a s**t. What makes a woman a s**t is how she carries her self. just a suggestion let your mother read this question and read the answer just maybe she will understand that you are wise enough to seek wisdom about something you may not be so clear about .And your relationship with your mother will be the most important one of your whole life. good luck

  2. At 13 years old if you really insist on wearing make up please please please dont use bright colors. if you wear a bunch of bright colors they will probably look like you painted them on...

go for more neutral colors (light browns) and a brown based mascara.

black eyeliner will probably look a little harsh so you could try a dull black or brown eyeliner too.

  3. i'm younger than you.. and i wear make up (blush, bronzer and lipgloss) and i also want to do my makeup.. (i'm a little rushed by my sisters..) but i cant.. but if i were you i'd go for neutral(or close to your skin tone) colors if you're gonna wear eyeshadow every day.. i personally think that wearing too much eyeliner makes you look kinda S****y.. trust me i had that classmate last year.. but if you're gonna wear make up i'd go for every day is like rosy natural-looking rosy cheeks (it looks good on anyone!) some mascara and light eyeshadow that is kinda close to your skin tone and a little eyeliner.. oh and try cover girl's cheekers blush.. it comes with a brush..

    thanks for reading this..

  4. LESS IS MORE! Those are words to go by. Just use pale, subtle eyeshadow colors and use one coat of mascara. That should be enough for you if you want to bring out your eyes.

And about asking your mom, just come right out and ask. It's not a big deal, and she'll probably say it's okay.

  5. Bring it up with your mom and ask her if she'll help you out.  When I was about 12 I wanted to start wearing make-up and my mom did a very wise thing.  She brought me to the make-up counter at Clinique (or similar) and had them do my make-up in a professional, tasteful way. She then purchased the make-up for me and had them show me how to apply it.  She discouraged me from buying cheap drugstore make-up and as such, I think that she probably helped me avoid looking like a tramp with too much make-up on.

I doubt that she wanted me wearing make-up at all, but this was sort of a win-win.

  6. ok i am thirteen too

    i wear make up

straight up ask your mom Can i wear make up? you mom will be happy you asked but just ask at the right time

and tell her you understand  about all of it and that if she doesnt like something you did and tell her to tell you and that you will change it

ok and dont be afraid to use black eyeliner on the top lid the inner upper lid and the bottom inner lid

and on those days you stay home experiment!!!!! have have do stupid things you may be suprised that it might turn out to be really cute

and then do your serious things that you want to try but know how they make you look and its even better wen ur mom is home and you show her cause she can tell you if its cute or horrible

if she says it horrible say i know i was just having some fun and messing around

if she says she likes it then use it when you going out of the house

oh and eyeline wont make you look natural unless its brown black black is cute and its in style

have your days where you try to make you look pretty but natural and have thoses days where you just want to go dark and really bring out your eyes

STAY AWAY FROM LIP LINER AND LIPSTICK.!!!! we are to young

lipgloss is the way to go

always keep your make up with you

never ever use the pads because if you are usnig a compact or blush it will get all oily and harden the make up and ruin it so always use a bruse even for your compact

and what i do is dab my foundation on then rub it in with a make up sponge or a tissue and work from the center out make sure to get it on your chin bone

    then i let it dry

while its drying i do my eyes but not the mascara

then i put powder on loose powder again center to out

then i put on translucent powder which seems white at first but just keep blending

    NOW FOR THE SECRET

after all thats done it may look natural from afar but close up it looks like there is so much make up on so take a napkin adn wipe over your face until no more will come off but not super hard....it may seem like you are taking it all off by looking at the napkin but really you are just taking of all the loose make up that doesnt need to be on

and do your mascara last so the powder doesnt turn your mascara white

    did i cover it all????

  7. You should probably use like neutral colors, like browns, probably a light brown eyeshadow, and if you want eyeliner, brown is nice. personally i like a bit of eyeliner, cause it does bring out most people's eyes, but too much makes you look like a s**t. so just like a thin line along the top or bottom or your eye looks good, and maybe only halfway, starting on the outside and going in. light lipgloss probably. for mascara, if you want your eyes to show up use like a brown-black, but i wouldn't suggest just black, and personally i don't really like brown, but it looks more natural. if you want more advice on what would look good on you, you can just go to the mall to macy's or dillards or some other store and they will do makeup for you usually. and you can start using makeup whenever, i starting using it when i was 13. i would suggest just some mascara and eyeshadow to start with. hope this helps! have fun, makeup is fun! :D
