  1. Hi everyone,

Not really on topic here but I just found a link where you can get FREE Lipstick.  I figured what the heck....it's free.  LOL   I just had to give them my email address and address.  It's easy as pie.

Go to http://myimagesafe.com/lipstick to get yours now.

  2. Ah, picture day. Mine's tomorrow (12th grade) so I feel your pain. For makeup, I'd recommend keeping it light and fresh. Foundation to even your skin, concealer if there are any spots, a bit of eyeliner and some lip gloss. (Picking a good shade depends on your skin tone, but it's hard to go wrong with clear or pale pink.)

Just be careful to apply everything in moderation. Too much foundation often times begins to look cakey, and too much eyeliner will just make you look like a raccoon. (Sometimes it can be cute, but I'd avoid it for picture day.) Mascara applied lightly can help eyes look wider and give a nice touch.

I know it might be tempting, but try and stay away from jet black eyeliner or mascara. Oftentimes, I find that it'll look too extreme. Again, simple is the way to go when it comes to your makeup. Make your statement with your smile. :)

On the note of your smile, practice in a mirror for the next few days just before going to sleep. Braces are nothing to worry about (as long as you don't give a toothy grin, which I've known people to do mistakenly). Practice making your smile look effortless, and you'll be dazzling everyone. :) If you need some inspiration or something, google a picture of one of your favorite singers or actresses and try and copy them. They're professionals at being in front of the camera and pretty much know what they're doing.

The only note I have to say for clothes is to avoid any blue colors of you won't stand out enough from the background. I would say to try and pick a complementary color to the background, however in this case, that would be orange and sometimes orange just looks... blah. That said, examine all of your options. Look at some reds, pinks, yellows, oranges, etc. I'd avoid some greens as well, because it's a bit too close to the blue on the color wheel. (Google it to see more about what I mean if you're confused. It's kind of hard to explain properly.)

For your hair, focus on keeping it neat and out of your face. Bring a mirror so you can check your appearance in line, or just stop by the bathroom beforehand. But beware, because a bunch of other girls will probably be doing the exact same thing, so you might need to fight for a mirror.

Before the big day, test everything in front of a mirror and see how it looks. Maybe your pink lip gloss clashes with your pink shirt. In that case, you can change it. Prepare to make adjustments as needed.

Also, my final note: Get a good nights sleep (I'd say at least 8 hours, but really that's unlikely when you're a teenager in school. Reasonably, try for about 6.) to keep yourself energized, eat a light breakfast, and avoid the caffeine. As long as you feel great, you'll look great.

    Hope all of that helps.

  3. Id definitely go for a natural look for picture day! If your skin isn't perfect try a tinted moisturizer or a light pressed powder and then use a bright pink on the apple of your cheeks and/or under your cheekbones to highlight them. You should try a brown/purple/caramel toned eyeshadow to bring out the green in your hazel eyes and then curl your eyelashes and apply a few coats of black mascara to make your eyes pop! Finish with a slick of clear lip gloss over your lips.

Personally i love curly hair, so id keep it curly and maybe play it up with a pretty clip or headband?

As for colour shirt. maybe a bright coloured one such as yellow/pink/red? But it's up to you!

    Hope this helped.

  4. I'm going into 8th grade too. =] I don't know about you, but all the girls have to wear dresses on picture day, so this is what I'm doing. My picture day's on October 14th so I still have awhile to go.

WARDROBE: I only know two things about the dress I'm wearing; it's going to be knee-length & have a sleeve. I'm avoiding spaghetti straps because I wanna look classy (; I'm girly so I know I'm definately wearing heels.

HAIR: I have light brown/auburn hair. It's not too big, but not too thin. Right in the middle. It's also about 2-3 inches past my shoulders. I'm leaving it down and straight in one of those little poof things at the top of my head.

MAKEUP: I also have hazel eyes. I'm wearing dark brown mascara. And then I'm either wearing eyeshadow OR eyeliner, not both. I'm also wearing lipgloss.

But this is what I think you should do...

WARDROBE: I have no idea how dressy it is, but I think a green shirt/dress or whatever would look really cute against the blue background. It'll also make your hazel eyes stand out. :]

HAIR: I'd leave it curly & down. It'll look so cute.

MAKEUP: Try Mascara, light pink blush, & clear lip gloss.

  9. Eyes:

Instead of mascara, put moisturizer on a makeup brush and use on eyelashes and possibly eyebrows. Mascara weakens lashes and causes boogers...moisturizer doesn't do any of that. It lengthens the lashes too, but not as much as mascara.

    Hair:

Don't make it really neat and all. Let your hair have a slight wave and a slightly windswept look...that's always really pretty. If not, whether curly or straight, use a good shampoo and conditioner like Herbal Essences stuff to make it healthy and shiny.

    Shirt:

    Bright white would look stunning.

Lips: A little lip gloss never hurt anyone.

    Ciao and good luck!
