It really depends on your skin tone. Some foundations that have worked for me are Clinique, Mary Kay (the one I use now), Boots (I've only seen it at Target), and Smashbox. You might want to try foundations from a department store or a Sephora because you can test them and find a shade that works for you, and if it doesn't they have great return policies. Good luck!

Do not try a drugstore foundation that is not aimed at colored women they will just make you look chalky. Since you are african-american then I would really invest in a good foundation that matches perfectly with your skintone which can be very hard for darker skintones.
