I'm clueless, please give me any help or advice you can. I'm not even sure how to apply it. What is tinted moisturizer? Could I just use a pressed/loose powder for complete coverage? What about eyeshadow/mascara? I'm hearing all these terms like: tinted moisturizer, pressed powder, foundation, concealer, and I'm not sure the diffrence between them all...please help!

Please help! Also please suggest some inexpensive brands you could purchase at a drugstore that are still good quality.

  1. For one tinted moisturizer is pretty much moisturizer with foundation in it. And yes you could just use powder for total coverage if you have pretty even skin, to apply eye shadow put some eye shadow on a brush, then swipe it across eyes. Once you get better you can mix colors and put colors of lid/brow Bone/upper corner. and mascara just look up and apply, be careful though. and for the bottom just do one or 2 swipes. If you aren't comfortable with then put the  wand just below your eyelashes and blink. Foundation is cream or powder that evens out your skin, Concealer is to conceal spots that you don't want noticed i.e. zits freckles. Good Brands are Revlon Cover girl Maybelline Lo real

  2. ok first thing first if u have clear skin u dont need foundation or powder unless u have oily skin u might need some powder then apply premier at the arch of ur eyebrow and then put some eyeshadow look around if u have dark brown eye black eyeliner would look better and if u have blue or Grey or green try black and brown mascara and eyeliner what else if u have dark circles u could apply some concelar under and seal it with some powder make sure it matches ur skin tone and look around u will prolly find makeup video tutorials in youtube and google rice bunny she has some awsome techniques

  3. concealer- hides things like dark undereye circles, blemishes, minor redness

foundation- is usually a skin colored liqiud usually called base

pressed powder- is powder like in a compact it is pressed together not tiny loose particles.

the drugstore brand i use most is covergirl i like it..

  4. You dont need all of that c**p

as a teenage girl you have colours and tones that old ladies put make up on to look like.

Usually teens put on a bit of foundation (only a tiinyyy bit) on big spots and blemished areas. ONLY if you have blemished areas.

A TINY bit of concealer can be used under the eyes to cover up bags and make you look away. Eye shadow is a waste of time and makes people look too made up.

A nice naural day look is maybe a bit of mascara, which is coating over your eyelashes to make them look thick and longer, and a TINY bit of blush or bronzer on your cheek bones to accentuate the structure of your face.Sometimes people wear lip balm or gloss to keep their lips nice and conditioned. Keep it nice and natural. trust me.

If your making a big effort in the night for a party or something, liquid eye liner, khol, or eyeliner, lines closely around your eyes to make them look dark and smoky- you would usually wear it with mascara to make a more dramatic effect. If you want to wear lipstick, for example a scarlett red for a 50s look, be very simple on the eyes. These looks in the night should only really be worn on mature faces, or those about 16 or over, or it will look like children trying to dress up- which looks very weird. Sometimes even if you think you look old enough to wear it, your often not.

Here in England a good place to buy cosmetics in a drugstore is called Rimmel.

In America I think Cover Girl is suppost to be nice and natural; also Max factor and Maybelline have good, long wear make up, made of minerals which can be good for your skin.

If you want to spend a bit more money, Bobbi Brown does very natural, great quality cosmetics.

My honest opinion is that make up can more often ruin faces than enhance them, unless you use it well.

  5. ok don't panic

base coverage (that's ur tinted moisturizers, foundations, powders)

depending on your skin type if ur quite shiny and oily try a light foundation. go into boots and ask for help the 17 range is very good and designed for teenagers, they will match the coloring in a foundation or base to your own skin color so that it looks natural. i think though that you should start with basics eyeshadow, mascara, and blush

if you have brown eyes go for a shimmery beige or browny colors are natural so it only enhances your natural beauty or lilac suites most eye colors. blue eyes suite greys and blues and some browns, just try them and see what you think looks good!

apply to the eyelid only for now until your confident with what your doing

mascara- brown is more natural but black is more daring it depends on your preference, there all types of volumizing, defining etc.

blush- this is tricky try different colours, it's best to ask in a shop about this

apply by using a fluffy brush to the apples of your cheks (by smiling and sweeping back up towards the tips of your ears

finish with a pink tinged lip gloss or even just a lip balm

really i think you should try different colours and shades until you find a style that suites, that is how i learnt.

try the body shop, they do nice products and they can help match colours (and they show you how to apply them). they aren't really expensive

brands- there are loads so shop aroun until you find one that's affordable and do colours that you like

so stick to the basics that you can understand or don't be afraid to ask in a shop or even what i did was i looked in my local library! the books were really helpful with looks to recreate and simple directions

    have fun and be daring!

  6. haha hey i was like that

if you have acne skin you should go for a concealer ( witch will cover spots its not a foundation) and a liquid foundation because it wouldn't give you that dry flaky look.

If you don't have acne or dry skin you should go for a powder witch you can cover your whole face with if you want but i would only put foundation or concealer where you need it because it will give you that unnatural look.

Now mascara theres so many first curl your lashes with some curlers then apply mascara from the root to tip. Theres so many you need to think what you want from it. I would recommend. LACOME - VIRTUOUS its dose everything, curl, lengthen and thicken its great.

Then theres eye liner. you can use pencil or liquid BUT liquids harder but it smoother but pencil is a bit harder to put on but do this before you put mascara on but go to

    www.videojug.com

it gives you loads of tips on everything just go to beauty section

    hop i helped!

  7. Tinted moisturiser - it moisturises your skin (making it softer), but gives it a subtle colour so that you don't have to use foundation. This washes off (so its not like tanning moisturiser, which contains fake tan which stays on your skin) and is especially good for daytime, for school and in the summer.

Powder will make your face look less shiny, so as you get older and start getting spots this might be useful. You can also put it on over the rest of your makeup to seal it in place

Concealer covers up spots and any dark areas under your eyes. You put this on after foundation or tinted moisturiser, but before powder or anything else.

Mascara makes your eyelashes darker, therefore making them look longer/thicker. Some also make your eyelashes curlier, but you can also make your eyelashes curlier using an eyelash curler, which is a metal thing you use before applying mascara. You can also use eyeliner. You put this on your eyelid just above or below your eyelashes, but very close to the line of your eyelashes. There are 2 types or eyeliner - liquid and pencil. Liquid gives a darker, stronger colour, and therefore most people find pencil is better for daytime since it is more subtle. You can also wear mascara, a natural shade such as brown or peach for the daytime, and more vibrant colours for the nighttime.

Different products work for different people, so the trick is to choose something that suits your skin. For example, if your skin is quite dry then you should try liquid foundation or tinted moisturiser. But if your skin is quite oily then powder is better.

Hope that helps! And if you need any more information or tips then feel free to email me (click on my picture and its on my profile) - lol I probably know way too much about makeup than I should.

Oh and you should check out the magazine as well. It has good brands, even more tips, how-tos, the whole enchilada.

  9. Tinted moisturizer is a great product. It is like a light foundation. Foundation is a colored liquid you apply to your face to hide any blemishes and even out skin tone. You can also buy powder foundation (which I prefer). Concealer is a more concentrated, colored liquid or powder that can cover up zits, dark undereye area, or any redness or whatever you want to hide.

Pressed powder is just that.... powder that has been pressed into a compact with a puff or brush to apply it with. Most people use it over tinted moisturizer or foundation.

I suggest Cover Girl Smoothers tinted moisturizer or a mineral powder foundation (drug store brands are Loreal, Neutrogena or Physician's Formula, although I suggest Bare Minerals), a loose translucent powder (again I use Bare Minerals but you can get a lot of good ones at the drugstore, I like Coty, it comes in a old-fashioned box and looks so pretty!), use a big, fluffy brush w/ loose powder.
