  1. If you really want to get makeup, I suggest going to an Origins location.  Origins have their own free standing stores as well as located in Macy's department stores.  I recommend Origins because I use the products myself, they are a great quality (also they are natural which means made without chemicals), and they're not too expensive.

PS: At Origins if you want a makeup consultation, it's free!

  2. I would choose any mineral makeup line.  Bare Essentials, GLO, etc. They are natural and do not contain additives which can clog the skin and create all kinds of skin problems.  If I were you I would stick with the basics, lip gloss and mascara.

  3. Ooh, I do love to save money, so I try to always be aware of prices and these are some of my favorites.

Eyeliner- I love the new Jane mineral gel eyeliner.

Eyeshadow- Wet n Wild makes an eyeshadow compact that has lots of shadows that is nice. It's not the most pigmented eyeshadow, but will be more mistake-proof for a someone new to makeup and you can build up the pigment a bit and you probably need this makeup for daily stuff and to wear to school and you don't want to look like you are about to go clubbing while at school and it might be against dress code too. NYX is good for eyeshadows, but hard to find where I live, but Milani also makes some more pigmented shadows.

Lipgloss- Bonne Bell makes some flavored lipglosses that I love. Mocha Mousse is a great ylbb (your lips but better) color. Rimmel Vinyl lip in Snog has a citrusy smell and a pinker finish that is still ylbb and lasts a bit longer.

Fondation- CG Smoothers Tinted Moisturizer (a tm might be best if you aren't used to foundation) but if you do want some more coverage for your acne try the CG whipped foundation (feels light on the skin, but still has coverage). You may want to finish with a powder like Corn Silk loose powder or one of the CG powder like Outlast, or the new CG mineral one (that one goes on pretty smoothly). I've heard good things about NYC translucent pressed powder, but it looked really powdery on my skin.

Concealer- I also have dark circles (bummer) and have foudn nothing HG (best product) for them. If you want to spend more, I love MAC Moisturecover concealer, but it is 15. I can tell you not to buy the Wet n Wild concealers or the Physician's Formula ones. When I was your age, I loved the NYC concealer in a lipstick tube (I have some wrinkles now so want something gentler on the eye area) and this concealer does a great job concealing smoothly. I would use a different concealer for acne. Now, one tip is that the foundation that sticks to the top of the lid is a great product to use to conceal  because it is a bit thicker. Also, you may want to try Almay Clear Complexion concealer. It's a nice liquid that lasts and blends well and doesn't irritate my skin.

    Anything else?

Blush or bronzer? Milani blushes and bronzers are pretty much universally liked because they apply really evenly and last a good amount of time. I would pick one depending on what look you want.

Mascara? I just discovered an almost HG mascara, NYC Lengthening Mascara in brown which is so natural and non-clumping (my lashes clump a lot). It looks great for about 2 hours before smudging beneath my eyes, but I live in a humid city and MANY mascaras smudge on me. I was turned on to this mascara by a coworker who lashes I loved. They looked so natural I asked her if she used mascara and she said this is what she used and it didn't smudge on her, so it could ust be me.

You will do great and remember less is more, especially while learning. You may want to do a makeup slumber party before school starts with your freinds while you all do crazy makeup on each other just to test everything out and see what it can do.

  4. Eyeshadow- maybellene (i cant spell)

    Lipgloss- revelon

    I don't use foundation, I use bareminerals

  5. CG is your best bet

  6. Eyeliner - wet 'n wild kohl pencils work pretty well & they're only a few bucks.

Or two great liquid eyeliners are:

    Shiseido's Makeup Fine Eyeliner - $27 @ Sephora's

    OR Stila's Liquid Eyeliner - $16 @ Sephora's

    Eyeshadows:

Mac's pigment pots are SOSOSOSO amazing & worth every penny, trust me!

But for cheaper, yet still great quality eyeshadows I suggest NYX [not Nyc]. They're like MAC, but a h**l of a lot cheper.

You can get their products @ any pharmacy.

Lipgloss - Victoria Secret's beauty rush lip gloss set, stays in place & smells awesome :)).

Foundation - anything that's made out of minerals!

Revlon's color mineral stay is brilliant :)

Concealer - lise Watier's undercover cream concealer is brilliant & can last you up to a year & 1/2 [that's how long I had mine] so it's well worth the money.

& Mascara - Dior's Diorshow mascara is the absolute best.

Or for something cheaper maybelline's mascaras usually work swell.

+ Sephora is always have sales, so check them out www.sephora.com
