i agree with lexi,but if they dont help you, then read magazines like cosmo girl or seventeen magazines. they usually have the tips for putting on makeup

Sephora has some nice tips as well as the MAC website

you could go to some makeup stores and ask for a free consultation

also check out YouTube and search "makeup tutorial"

ALSO even with everyone's help. make sure you make your makeup you're own. experiment a little and see what works for you. as i like to say "makeup has no rules so have fun with it"

i would suggest going to like a department store where they have makeup artists and they can show u how to put on makeup correctly according to ur face shape and skin and everything, cuz different people have to put on different shades and everything
