Question:

Makeup question: Mascara?

I have heard that you have to throw away mascara every 3 months in order to keep eyes safe from infection.

My question is: What if I bought it a couple months ago but haven't even opened the packaging?

Also, just wondering what do everyone recommend for mascara in terms of volume that's from the drugstore?

  1. i have the orange mascara from cover girl and it gives lots of volume and i had it for quite a while so i dont think you have to throw out mascara every 3 months. its like 8 dollars at cvs

  2. Yes, mascara can be "stored" if not opened as long as it isn't like years and years and years. i think it would smell funky by then.

i like neutorgena healthy volume mascara or rimmel london's glam eyes.

  3. lashblast by covergirl is BY FAR the best mascara out there.

and yes you're fine. to be honest, you don't really have to worry about infection much unless multiple people are using the mascara.

  4. Yeah that should be fine. When the mean infection they mean infections that you may have picked up from the outside world. So if it hasn't been opened it should be fine.

  5. anything maybelline really. i like their x*x factor and their define a lash the best

  6. If you haven't opened the mascara, it is still good to use. if you have opened & used it , you will have to use it by 3 - 6months

Volumising mascara - Loreal Voluminious Naturale

    Loreal  Lash Architect

    Maybeline Volume Express Hypercurl

Covergirl Lash Blast ( the brush is a bit tricky )

    Maybeline Full & Soft

    Revlon Fabulash Mascara

    Physician Formula Aquawear

Try every thing & see what you like

  7. I haven't had any trouble with using mascara longer than 3 months.  The most important thing is not to share your mascara with anyone.  That is how eye infections can be picked up.  I love the XXL mascara!

  8. the whole infection scare is not really something to worry about.

just use it at home, put it away, and throw it out when it's done, but dont keep it over like a year bceause then it probably wont even work and its good to throw it out after a year.

3 months is WAY too soon
