Question:

Makeup tip for making eyes look bigger and greener

I don't like using too much make up or looking like I am using too much make up (no purple or blue eyeshadow, thank you). I want to center my make up around the eyes and open them up, make them look bigger. I also want to bring out the green in my olive/ hazel green eyes. FYI: I am white, with medium golden brown hair and a medium complexion and want to look natural, polished and youthful, not overly done or trashy. Can you suggest tips, techniques, eye shadow colors that would work? Thanx in advance.

  1. Colours such as mauve and gold are good for hazel eyes. To make your eyes look bigger, simply cover the lid with a base colour like pale gold- not a lot!, then on the outer edge of the lid dab a darker colour and smudge it into the gold. =]

  2. I do not have green eyes, but my cousin does and her make-up always looks great!!!  Her eyes just pop out.   She uses a charcoal brown eyeliner from clinique and bronze eyeshawdow.  She uses a brown mascara too.  Her eyes never look overly done and the green in her eyes looks amazing.  She is a redhead.

  3. In order to bring out the green in your eyes, I would suggest using a light green/golden color eye shadow. Almay currently has a product out called Trio, and I have found that this type of shadow really brings out the eyes and makes them pop in a totally natural and elegant way. A brown eyeliner (preferably pencil) will also add a defined line around your eyes allowing your eyes to dazel. To finish off your look, using a brown mascara will give you a little bit of a darker touch to your eyes, but will still go along with your clean appearance. Directions on how to apply the shadow can vary depending on your personal preference. They do provide application instructions on the shadow box but from there you can give it your own twist. Hope I could help. Sounds like your gorgeous already!

  4. For green to stand out, gold and bronze work well. Also use light colors on the inside corner and lower lash line.

  5. i would say use brown eyeliner and mascara

  6. Use a eyelash curler to curl your lashes then mascara to make eyes look bigger. I have green eyes and burgundy and purple colors make my eyes look really green. I like to use a plum eyeliner right in the lash line and go over it with a bit of purplish shadow to set it. Looks really cool.

  7. Take white eye shadow and a small shadow brush... dip it in the white and dab it in the corners of your eyes. This trick will make your eyes look bigger! As for bringing out your eyes, you should try a pretty brown eye shadow. It would go great with your eyes, complexion and hair color. You can take a soft brown kohl pencil and line the top eyelids and extend it out to a wisp and then line only half of the bottom lash line (from the start of the outer corner to the middle of your lower lash line).

  8. The almay for green eyes is a really good set.  But really any "raisin" or "plum" colored eyeliner and shadow would work.  Color your entire lid with a golden tan shadow.  Then in the crease from the center of your pupil to the outside edge of your eye color in with a plum brown color in the shape of a C --crease to the edge and then just along the upper lash half way to the center of your pupil.  This will open up your eyes and the raisin/plum color brings out the green.

  9. I've read that many makeup artists and celebrities use this trick:

Get some white eyeliner and dab it in the corners of your eyes. It makes them appear larger. For greener eyes, definitely some gold flecked, creamy eyeshadow dusted lightly with a bronzer powder eyeshadow.

Curl your eyelashes and apply some volumizing, curl enhancing, or lengthening mascara on. Shu Uemura is a popular eyelash curler amongst celebrities and makeup artists.

  10. When you apply eyeliner apply it mid eyelash on the lash line and again on the bottom lashes from mid lash line out

Also Almay and Physicians Formula have eyeshadows that are specifically for your eye color

  11. almay has eyeliner for all colors of eyes that bring out the color of your eyes and they work really good :D

    yiu should try them

  12. try black eyeliner. and some brown or green eyeshadow to bring your eyes out more.

dont do blue or purple cuz that wont look good with hazel.

also try white eyeliner to make your eyes really pop! its make-up magic. it somehow makes your eyes look big and bold.

    AND try the twiggy touch

its where your draw eyelashes under you eyelashes to make them look thick.

    :)

  13. I use bronze or gold eyeshadow to make my eyes look bigger and greener. Trust me it's not harsh, it'll give your eyes some sparkle. Also black mscara will lift your eyes and give them a prettier shape. I also put highlighter on the arch of my brows, the inner corner of my eye. Do this and your eyes will look georgeous, its what i do to play up my bright green eyes. Hope this helps.

  14. as for eyeshadow i would recommend a pale gold color (not the shimmery kind cuz that would look unnatural)

to make your eyes look bigger line your eyes with pencil liner ( i would recommend NYC eyeliner pencil. you can get it at walmart for like a dollar and it works great( the pencil will go on less harsh which means more natural looking. line your top lash regularly and make it slightly heavier on the outside. line only like the outside half or third of your bottom lashes. then put the eyeshadow on your lid (putting on the eyeshadow after the liner will tone down the eyeliner line making it a more natural look) to make you look more awake and your eyes open dab a little white shadow on the inside tear duct of your eye and just a very little under your brows.

you can wear mascara if you want but you dont have to. if you do i would recommend covergirl lash blast. its worth the $7
