Making A Level 3 / Grade 3 Blasting Cap?

For a couple of years I have been using disassembling fireworks and using a certain piece as my level 4 blasting cap. My question is How do I actually make one myself?

Honestly, a blasting cap can NOT be made from any firework. It would never detonate anything. The VoD is far too low. You need a primary high explosive, and a booster, and usually there is a primer before the primary. The standard now is lead azide/RDX. It used to be mercury fulminate, but they became aware of the toxicity (vaporized mercury on detonation) You can't make them yourself legally, at least not without a permit, which is very expensive, though I bought one, and I found it is very worth it :) Even though the renewal is a bit expensive.

make it as a miniature pipe bomb...I use a 3/4" threaded galvanized nipple,3 inches long with caps at both ends.....drill a 1/4"hole in the middle to allow your fuse to be put in,slip the fuse into the hole,bring the end out and tie a knot in it before pulling the knot back to the hole....cap one end tightly,fill with FFFg and pack tightly with whatever you use for wadding and CAREFULLY cap the other end..its ready to go....I sue it to set off Det Cord with no probs
