  1. I'd use a Gel Air Freshener... easy to make for any room!

    2 Cups water

    4 packets unflavored gelatin

    essential or fragrance oil

    food coloring (optional)

Bring 1 cup of water almost to a boil. Stir in gelatin, stir until dissolved. Remove from heat, mix in food coloring, 10 drops of oil, and the other cup of water. Mix well. Pour into jars and let set.

You can use old candle jar that have lids so you can put the lid back on if you want. Or use small jelly jars (used for canning - the ones with lids and rings)  use a piece of lace and just the ring.  Makes it pretty.  Or you can find (in some craft shops) the same size jars that have a design cut into the lid.

You can add things to your gel to make it fit the decor of the room as well - things like small glass figures or cinnamon sitcks or whole  cloves.  The possibilitiess are endless!!  Have fun with this.

These also make great additionss to gift baskets.

  2. If you can get hold of it a vanilla scented essential oil works well.

A great way of making your room smell good is to rub a little oil from a cloth onto the bulb (not the metal bits) of your light. The scent radiates around the room when you turn your light on.

  3. Don't put anything on the new energy bulbs, they'll likely blow up !!

  4. Not sure what you are trying to make smell like vanilla, but the most fragrant vanilla smell I know of is to cut a vanilla bean down length-wise.  The seeds contained inside can be scraped out to add to anything, as well as the pod for flavoring.  I also put "split" vanilla beans in sugar to make vanilla flavored sugar.
