Making A stable boat?

how can i make a boat that can withstand heavy items on it?

what is this 'thing' that makes boats carry heavier things?

1. it needs to be the size of a for example show box.

2. it has to be materials less than 50 dollars.

The wider the boat the more stable it will be.  The more water the boat displaces the more it can hold.  Some boats that are narrow in design for speed have a ballast weight in the bottom of the boat to keep it upright.

Best bet is a platoon type of structure.  2 barrels and a platform.  I don't think you'll do it for less than 50 dollars unless you get used stuff.
