Making a TI83+ unprogramable?

Is there any way to make a TI83+ unprogrammable?

I get to university with my great little calculator only to be met by you need a NON PROGRAMABLE calculator.

Well, I can bearly handle a normal calcuator anymore! is there any way I can 100% turn off my ablity to program with this calc so that I may have a chance to convince them to let me use it?

I've had teachers say they don't like those calculators.  They just trust us to not use programs in them.  I don't think you can make them unprogrammable though.
