Question:

Making a box big enough for someone to crawl into... any help?

My fiancee is really into cats. So much so, in fact, that she's taken on some of their mannerisms.

Years ago, her dad built her a human-sized cat condo big enough for her to crawl inside, curl up into a ball and go to sleep.

I really want to make another one for her. But I'm not sure how I would go about building the box itself. She's about 5'8", and I'd like the box to have a cat flap big enough to let her in comfortably.

Any suggestions?

  1. How big is her litter box?

  2. is this some sort of fetish u 2 have going on???

  3. You've got to be kidding me! I would go out and buy 3/4 inch plywood (three sheets of 4'x8'), a few peices of 2x4x8 pine, a box of 2" screws, a box of 2 1/2 inch screws, an 8'x10' carpet remnant, some paint, and a piece of 4'x4' rubber to use as the cat flap.. Cut five 4'x4' squares out of the plywood and s***w 5 of them together to form a box with an opening for the hinged door. reinforce the box with a couple of two by fours for strength- cut them to 4' and s***w them in on the inside, across the ceiling to form a box on the inside . For ventilation, drill some 1/4 inch holes in the "roof". As many as you see fit. Cut carpet out to line the inside floor (and walls if you so wish) of the cat house.   If you're going to line the walls, don't line the ceiling( it will get stuffy in there i presume), and use a heavy duty staple gun to attach the carpet. Paint the outside of the structure. Im unfamiliar with a cat flap, so just look how the small cat flaps are attached to the cat  condos and copy that for your design. Now this is just a box. If you want to build an actual "condo", I would suggest building a sturdy platform using 2x4s and plywood, and make it bigger than the area of your cat condo box. Paint it and sit the condo on top, then s***w in through the bottom of the platform into the condo for support.

There are many other things you can probably do with this, I can only imagine that you have a good imagination if you're building a cat condo for a human. Whatever you choose to do, I hope your fiancee finds it purr-fect. Hehe!
