Is there any way to make cake for one person? I have a box of the Duncan Hines Devil's Food cake mix and I really want it because I'm in the mood for cake but I don't want to make the whole cake because nobody else eats cake but me. I cant eat the whole cake! Is there any way to make only one serving of vanilla or chocolate cake? How do you make it and do you back it differently then you would a whole cake? Help me! Thanks!

  1. why dont you half the mix and the ingredients u have to add to it. or make the whole cake and put half in the freezer in slices. you can take a slice out eat day and take it to work or school it should be thawed by lunch time. mmmm i want cake now

  2. No way really. You can make cupcakes and perhaps freeze some, but they may not taste as good. Forget the baking and head for your local grocery store. They probably sell cake by the slice.

  3. try this ..it certainly sounds interesting and good for one person

    CAKE IN AN ORANGE

1 orange per person (orange with thick skin)

1 white, yellow, orange or spice cake mix (Jiffy cake mix works well)

    Heavy aluminum foil

Cut the orange in half and eat out the insides, being very careful not to rip or tear the orange skin or "cup". Mix the cake up according to the box directions and fill one of the halves 3/4 full. Cover the mix with the other half and wrap up in foil. Cook in a bed of coals for about 15 minutes (allow more time the colder the weather).

hope this helped and good luck Mitch

  4. Make all the batter, use what you need, freeze the rest, or make cupcakes and give some out to your friends.

  5. Next time you're at the store, buy a small box of Jiffy cake mix (blue & white);  they're about half the size (and price) of the other cake mixes.  In the meantime,  you could substitute sour cream or yogurt for the liquid; to make it a moister, denser cake and bake it in 2 loaf pans.  Freeze one, and keep the other refrigerated.  It will stay up to a week in the refrigerator....
