Question:

Making a connecting flight?

I have a few questions about making a connection in Atlanta intl.

I wasn't really thinking straight and only allowed myself an hour to make my connection. (I'm flying from Phoenix to Atlanta and then onto Savannah)

Firstly... is this enough? Given that there's no delay.

Also, my parents have told me that my suitcase won't get transferred on time, is this true?

And if so, would I be allowed to take it on as carry on?

It's a small 20in upright suitcase. I'm not sure if the size allowed on as carry on varies with airlines, but if it does - I'm flying with Delta

It's the first time I'm flying by myself without my parents, I'm a frequent flier but I'm not sure if an hour's going to be enough, I'm not completely confident.

Also, if I did have to take my bag on as carry on, would I be allowed to take on things such as a hair straightener etc.? (It's going to be really awkward with the liquids, this is probably what's bothering me the most.)

Thanks for your help!

  1. yeah as long as Deltas gates are pretty close to one another then you will be more than fine

  2. Connecting from a domestic flight to another domestic flight on Delta in Atlanta, the minimum connect time is 35 minutes.

You'll be fine.  Your parents are full of c**p.

You could take you bag as a carry on, just any liquids have to be smaller then 3 oz. and must fit in a 1 quart zip-top bag.
