what materials do I need to make my own custom enclosue out of fiberglass?

  2. Fiberglass, Fiberglass resin, MDF, body filler(marglass or bondo), sandpaper, screws.

    DO IT, when I saw Remi on Unique Whips do it I knew it was not very hard. The first one I tried came out nice.

    I used the MDF for the bottom and the framing. I cut rings to hold the woofers and constructed mounts to place the ring wher i wanted them. Then I covered the entire structure with fleece. The fleece stretches and conforms to the shpe of the frame. Then you apply a coat of fiberglass resin to the fleece. Once the resin dries you have a hard shell. Go back and line the inside of the box with fiberglass material and then resin the inside. Make sure to use plenty of fiberglass & resin where the MFD framing and the fleece meet. Once it all dries sand down any imperfections and apply body filler on the outside. Sand the body filler to a smooth finish and you are ready for paint\carpet.
