I like coffee, but not when it's strong... I've got a dark roast blend because it was free, and a coffee pot that makes 4 cups of coffee... how much dark roast should I use to make coffee that isn't very strong?

  1. You just usually have to experiment to get the right amount for your personal taste. Make sure your coffee pot is cleaned from soak residue,as this can alter the taste.

  2. Four parts Columbian to one part dark roast makes a very pleasant-tasting coffee.  I use 1 tablespoon of this mix for each six ounces of water, but you would probably think that produced coffee that was too strong.  Try 2 teaspoons of the mix for each six ounces of water and see how you like that.

Dave is right, make sure the coffee pot is squeaky clean to get the best flavor.

  3. Well..if you must use the dark roast, since it is basically a stronger coffe I would recommend using a level teaspoon per cup!

  4. 2  - 3 teaspoons for a 4 cup pot, depending on how weak you like your coffee.... you could always cut the coffee with a lighter roast. 1/2 & 1/2

  5. 3 tablespoons (scoops) for a 4 cup coffeemaker - it will be blended nicely and not so strong...
