My husband and I have alot of friends, but few who know each other. Has anyone ever heard of a party invitation where the hostess asks the guests to bring a friend/friends? That way they have someone they can hang with and feel comfortable.

  1. I have! I usually have to because my friends are from all over and might end up lonely. It helps, but if they're social people, it might be nice to just introduce them and let them mingle!

  2. I have heard if you have an odd number of guests, people tend to mingle more.

  3. Yes, you could definitely do that.

You could also play some ice-breaker games, which get people talking and introduced to one another.

For example, one is called the Match Game.

The Match Game is a great way to get everyone mixing and mingling at your party!

Before the party, make a list of famous couples. For example, Anthony and Cleopatra, etc.  write the name of one half of the famous couple on one name tag, and the other name on another name tag.

As guests arrive, place a name tag on each guest's back (in random order). Tell each guest to mingle, asking yes or no questions about themselves (the name their back), until he or she finds their "other half".  Once each member of the famous couple finds each other, they can put on their name tags.

    Good luck!
