Making a new account on PS3.?

Question

Ok so i made the new account, and now i want to go online.

So i went to Sign up for the Playstation Network and it asked if i want to make a new account or use an existing account

What do they both mean?

A new account means that you have not mmade a PSN account before.

Existing account means you had one and are now getting it back.( say you go to a friends house and you want to play a game but want it give you credit for trophies or whatever then you can remake your account on your friends machine. You can have more then one account on a single machine.
