Making a online game nothing fancy?

Question

I dont want to spend any money, but i dont anything with 3d graphics or servers or stuff like that. I want to make a game that me and my best friend can play, we wanna make a dbz game. With characters and make the moves and change their clothes and walk around.

Like LOG 2, those little people with the moves and monsters and stuff. We wanna do that. Basically we wanna make something like pokemon crater. And you can walk around and battle and transform and stuff. I know it can be done without money involved. I dont want anything fancy.

But i want it to be 2d. And the ability to change moves and characters and clothes. How do i do this? How long would it take? Where do i start?

In order to make any game like this, your best bet is to go to your local public library and pick up a copy of this book. Its called making java games or something like that, it comes with a disk that has a program to create java based games. Its not easy in the least bit, and most likely will take a long time and  a lot of skill to do. So I don't suggest you even bother trying, because you would also need web hosting in order to play the game online, which can be costly. I suggest you buy something like RPG Creator 3 for PS2. It allows you to create games sort of like how you were saying. You can find it on ebay relatively cheap. ($10-20).
